10 Things Everyone Hates About Robots That Vacuum And Mop
Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that vacuum and mop offer the convenience of removing dry debris (dust dirt, grit) and wet messes (spills or staining) in one session without the need to change devices. They also can save storage space compared to having two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot will offer excellent navigation and obstacles avoidance. Look for cheap robot vacuum that have docks that allow them to automatically empty their bins, fill their water tanks, and wash the mopping pads.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It's one of the easiest robots to set up that we've tested. Unpacking is easy, and the quick-start guide can get you up and running in no time. You'll have a an entire dust bag, water tank and a hard floor solution.
The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can vacuum and mop well. The mops spin at high speed and use 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to swiftly take away pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The vacuum has four power modes, a range of brushes and attachments and a user-friendly app that lets you select the exact kind of cleaning you'd like to have for each room.
For example, you can decide to let the robot do a deep clean in the kitchen and living rooms but go easy on the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors as well as smart navigation technology. It can detect small obstacles that other models cannot. Its only issue is that the robot is known to smash into walls and objects at a high speed. However an inspection of the cleaning history on the app will reveal exactly what the robot done, where it is traveling, and what obstacles he has run into or avoided.
The docking station has an LCD display that shows the time when maintenance is required for cleaning up debris and washing the water tank that is dirty. It can also mix detergent automatically into the water tank with a 600ml bottle of Eufy's own solution.
Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop have plenty of run-time, with the mop capable of running for 184 minutes in Quiet mode and the vacuum capable of running for 136 minutes in normal mode, before needing to recharge or return to the base to refill. The app is simple to use and intuitive and lets you view every aspect of the cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the latest version of the company's most popular robot vacuum and mop. Unlike last year's model this one has two agitators in its mopping pad, which greatly improves carpet cleaning capabilities. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction capacity which allows it to pull up smaller hairs and other particles other robotic cleaners could miss.
This Roborock model, like the other two I tried, has infrared and reactive 3D obstacle avoidance technology to help it overcome obstacles like furniture, walls, and other obstacles. However, the S8 Pro Ultra takes things a step further by incorporating a dual camera that can recognize objects and determine whether they're a wall or another surface. It can then change its path automatically and clean the objects without missing a step.
It's the most expensive model I've tried, but it also has the most features. Its sleek, angular style is eye-catching and it has just three physical buttons which include the power button that also resumes cleaning; a mop-only button that doubles as a child lock and a home button to send the robot back to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid, you will find 350ml of dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank automatically emptys and the bin automatically refills.
The only negative I discovered with this model is that its VibraRise mop pad mount is not removable. While you can replace the mopping cloth (if needed), it's a pain to take off the mount itself for manual washing. I've noticed that any carpet that the robot touches will come into contact with the rough Velcro like fastener on mount, which can cause scratches.
The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a number intelligent features that include support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. You can configure and manage these through the Roborock app which is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app allows you to plan cleanings and monitor the battery's life. However, you'll need to jump through a few hurdles to enable voice control on this model, which is a shame considering the performance of this model.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop that has outstanding suction power, advanced mowing capabilities, and ingenuity features. Its smart design allows users to tailor and effectively clean while saving time.
The X40 is the first robotic vacuum cleaner to provide 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which makes it one of the most effective options available. This powerful vacuum removes dry debris, including pet hair and crumbs. It also comes with a high-quality mop that makes hard floors sparkling clean, even with a wet pad. The X40 is also extremely quiet in operation, with only occasional bursts during modes changes or self-maintenance.
The X40 also comes with an additional side brush that can be lifted and extended. This lets it reach into corners that are difficult to reach and clean curved furniture like table and chair legs. It also allows the robot to access low-profile furniture which makes it a great choice for small apartments and condos with limited space. The side brush automatically lowers itself when it spots wet spots. This is a nice addition that helps the X40 keep floors safe from damage caused by repeated back-andforth movements.
In contrast to other robots that are restricted to a single task, the X40 can mop and vacuum simultaneously. It can be programmed to only mop the hard floors, and skip carpeted areas, or vice versa. It can be controlled by the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure smooth voice-controlled operation.
The app is user-friendly and easy to use, and the X40's smart features are easy to set up. Users can program the X40 for cleaning at specific times. It can also be adjusted to adjust suction power, change modes, look at floor plans and maps, and manage mopping setting. The X40 can also track its progress and notify you when it's finished.
The X40 is easy to maintain and comes with numerous convenient features, making it a great choice for busy families. The docking station automatically empty the dustbin and wash the mop pads, then refill them with fresh cleaning solution and water. It can also detect when the mop pad is overflowing and alert you before it gets overflowing, reducing the need for manual maintenance.
4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models on the market. However, it has several features that make it stand out. Smart DuoScrub, a new feature on its mop heads, makes use of two mop heads with high-speed motors to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a suction force of 7,000Pa. This is more than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also vacuum up pet hair, small dirt particles, and clean up spills and dirt-stained spots.
The mops are cleaned and dried in the base station each time they are used. This feature is great because it stops mould and unpleasant odours from accumulating in storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a system we've yet to see on other robot vacuum and mop models and it could be a good way of keeping your home clean for longer.
There are plenty of options, including the ability to schedule cleaning times and adjust preferences. They can be set through the app or there are buttons that can be found on the unit itself. The app is simple to use and provides a variety of options for customizing the cleaning process, and there are many functions that other robots don't include, such as the Clean Genius mode that automatically boosts suction power when it detects dust particles rather than using the manual setting.
The L20 Ultra is also one of the most elegant robots we've seen in the market, sporting a white and metallic design that looks classy and sophisticated. It's heavier than the other two-in-one robots in this list - at around 4kg however it's not overly heavy, and is sturdy and well-built. The mopping design is also excellent and the double-rotating mop works well on hard floors and in corners. The MopExtend feature allows them to reach up to 2mm below baseboards.
